New Update (March 11,2008):

NOAA has changed their icons again. Please download the latest version with the change. If you do not like the new installation, please download HtmlConfig.xml and replace the old one. The file exists in c:\program files\desksware (PlainSight Desktop Calendar) or C:\Documents and Settings\(Login name)\Application Data\Desksware\ical (Desktop iCal).
The weather icons did not show correctly with some version. It is because that NOAA changed the weather data format. We’ve modified the program and uploaded the latest version on our site. Here are the links:

Desktop iCalendar Pro

Please download the latest version if the issue occurs on your computer.

The icons don’t display from California…?

I have ver 2.4.4.6 installed and I get no weather icons. All I get are boxes saying NA. I do get the temperatures thought so it does appear to be connecting with NOAA.

I downloaded the HtmlConfig.xml file and that did not fix the problem – made it worse on Vista x64.

Then I downloaded the full Desktop iCalendar Pro, uninstalled the prior version, installed the new one, and that DID fix the problem.

On Vista x64 the personalization files are not where you describe – they are in C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\desksware\ical\

I installed the new htmlconfig.xml and the Weather works when the program is first started. I have the Weather to refresh every hour. After the hour is up and it auto-refreshes, all I get is the black NA icon. I then right click > Refresh and it starts to show the weather. Well, kind of. The Icon for the current day and the Icon for the last day are usually the black NA icon.

    Any ideas?

Has the weather bureau mad another change? I have started to get many NAs.

Seems they did. There are only NAs now.

Desperately waiting for a new version before I might have to look into it myself ::) but I don’t have time to right now tho.

What I do not understand is the previous change… the old version stated: wtf\/([^\/]*)\.jpg in line 105…
The newer version only had the wtf (is it what we all think it is? lol) removed and it worked again? Can’t be true, right?

I download the “Free, Desktop iCalendar Lite”, which does not included the weather icon. so I download the”Pro” to get the weather icon, is this the one that I can only use trial 30days? after that, I won’t have the weather feature any more unless I buy the product after 30days? Otherwise, I can only use the “Free” iCalendar without weather icon right? please resp. thanksss

is there anyway to get rid of the program showing itself in the taskbar? I want it to only show in the tray area.

Some FYI for you since I tried to email and got mail back saying
    your server is full…
Weather in version 2.4.5.8 does not work, using v2.4.0.1 and it works.
Would be a great improvement if the weather displayed the ‘current’
temp. as well as the high/low. Also the weather update would be better
if in ‘minutes’ instead of hours.
Nice program, don’t get the newer version not working? If the weather
was updated as I suggested I would consider purchase.
    Keep up the good work!
