We’re happy to announce the release of Desktop iCalendar Lite.

It allows subscribing public Google Calendar, such as holidays, election or NBA. It is full customizable. A build in skin editor makes it easy to set the skin by your own taste. I did a review of Desktop iCalendar Lite on my blog, here: http://buildmyown.blogspot.com/2008/02/desktop-icalendar-lite.html
l will be glad for your kind consideration
Thank you for this excellent program. There seems to be an issue with the encoding of calendars created with Mozilla Sunbird, which is UTF-8. If you input “Athlétisme” in Sunbird you get “Athlétisme” in icalendar-lite. If you modify events in icalendar-lite then Sunbird complains that the file is no longer UTF-8.
Also it would be nice to be able to move all panes (calendar, events, todo) together (like winamp).
Excellent otherwise.
cheers
Use calendar applications to organize your time
In order to keep things in order, your busy schedule might need an improvement. For example i browse a lot of sites and test some software products I’m interested in, but for some reasons I forget, I don’t have time, I become lazy or someth…
good
The “sunday is not the first day of the week” not working. The tray icon should be optional.
Otherwise nice
Is there any way to resize the calender and the other windows? like I want to expand it and make it bigger, i checked the settings but it only allows me to tinker with the margin width and stuff but not resize, does anyone know how to? other wise a nice and clean looking calender =)
Dear John, You may try Edit Skin, select the Tab you want, select Background, change Width and Text Width, then click Apply. Good luck.
how to make monday is the first day of the week? is it possible? anyway it’s a nice calender
I just got a new computer with Vista. I downloaded your program from download.com. I got an error message during installation, but everything worked fine – until I booted up the next morning. I couldn’t see the program on the desktop. So I uninstalled it, although I got a message that it hadn’t completely uninstalled.
I downloaded and installed it again in a different folder, but this time all I could see were empty white boxes. So I uninstalled again, downloaded it from this site – and got just white boxes.
I’ve uninstalled it again, but I really want it back! It’s exactly what I was looking for, if I can get it to work again.
Any ideas? In the middle of all this, I did set up the Windows sidebar with a couple gadgets, if that makes a difference. And I’m not a techy, so speak English, please.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
this program can only run with administrator rights?
i logged in as a standard user and calendar.exe registered and error in Windows Application log (Event Viewer).

Pls advise. Thank you.
I downloaded this calendar from cnet (after trying about 15+ others that were not exactly right) and I found this to be “almost” what I needed. I say almost because there are a few features I would love to see added. The version I downloaded from cnet was pretty glitchy (no holiday calendar, alerts weren’t working, error messages here and there) and kept giving me errors. I also put in some test events to see if they would go off in time but the alerts would not work. I uninstalled the cnet version and came here and downloaded directly from your site and so far it seems to be working great now. I really like the concept of this desktop calendar – it was pretty much what I was looking for – an events planner and calendar with alarms and alerts to be running in the background. I also love the layout, size and design of this calendar and the nice skins that come with it. There are only some minor faults I can find – like the sunday first day option not working, the help file is missing, and the fact that the to do list isn’t more manageable or editable. I would also love to see some more features added to this like using specific alerts and sounds for certain events and also make this a full on planner with an address book and shopping list etc. With all that being said I really give this a thumbs up – as long as the version I just downloaded is less glitchy this time.
Thanks for making this handy little gem free – it’s just what my life ordered!
I’ve been looking for years for a good free desktop calendar and finally found one the I am excited about. Desktop iCalendar is the greatest. Thanks.
Well, the only thing i didnt like about it was once you set an even for a particular date you can not remove it. I tried to add another event thinking it would replace the previous but it didn’t i on ly ended up with the same event twice. Other than that its the best one i have used and i used about 26 different programs.
This program is great!! However every time it syncs it says “File could not be opened” How can I fix this?
The calendar is great! I have a question though. When I use the “Goto Today” function on the calendar, it does not update my “Events” window to the current day – only the “Calendar” window. Will it refresh itself eventually or will the “Events” window remain on the last day I clicked on to view?

I installed this stupid program probably about three months ago. I have this EXACT same problem as you Wilma. I don’t know how to get rid of it either. Can anyone help??? It’s so annoying.
Can anyone tell me if Lite version or the other give the possibility to create events in the calendar with differente colors. Example : Important Stuff in yellow, Business in green…And so on! Thanks!
I’m having the same problem under the same circumstances as Wilma Fortuna and Michelle Dee. I can’t seem to find any way to solve the problem and little luck with anyone knowing how to rectify the situation. If anybody can think of something let “us” know, we really would appreciate it. Thanks again.
Hello Wilma and Michelle,
I found a solution that has worked so far. Please just delete the folder which path is c:\program files\desksware manually
I can’t seem to get this program to sync with google calendar, when I right click and select that option nothing happens… anyone know what could be going on? Thanks!
Hi, I like Desktop iCalendar Lite a lot.
For some reason, my To-Do list disappears when I restart my computer. This started happening a couple of days after I downloaded it.
And I was wondering if there is a way to bring back that button that adds a new item. I deleted it on the first day I downloaded iCalendar but I want it back now, lol. I tried re-installing it but it doesn’t bring it back.
Thanks, and keep up the good work.
CLAY – Thank goodness!!!! I was having the same annoying issue after uninstalling the program as Wilma and Fortun.
Your suggestion of deleting that folder fixed it – THANK YOU for posting!!!
This is working fine for one calendar, but when I add the second I keep getting an “error – list out of bounds” message. Can you give me any pointers on why this is happening?
Hi! I installed iCalender Lite in my pc (windows xp). When i want to edit to-do list its says “List index out of bounds (-1).
Please help me to resolve this problem.
Thanks.
How do you get rid of or change an event?? If I can’t solve this problem, I will have to delete this calendar. Any Help? Thanks
Great Program … thank U !!!!!!
Might you consider the following additions for Desktop iCalendar.
1. Add sound to alarm for the pop up. Let use choose the wav file like in announcement for hour.
2. Allow chance the color for every text input box especially the “Summary” Would be nice to have different color for time and summary text.
3. Change the color of the today’s date. ( not just underline it)
Thank U again
Best Wishes
Some time ago, I did need to buy a good house for my corporation but I didn’t have enough cash and could not order anything. Thank goodness my colleague proposed to try to get the business loans from banks. Thence, I acted so and used to be happy with my student loan.
